Brenda van Camp-Elmes

founder & managing partner

Brenda brings extensive firsthand experience of what it takes to be a successful leader in today’s fast-changing business environment.

Following a successful 20+ year career as a transformative corporate leader, Brenda founded Upwardley to help organizations leverage the science of habit-building to create better, future-ready leaders. Brenda is also the author of the book, “The Leadership Workout: A practical 31-day guide to review & refine your leadership.”

Prior to founding Upwardley, Brenda held various senior leadership roles at Blurb, the online publisher, and Christie’s, the international auction house. Earlier on in her career, she held positions at the international consulting firm Booz Allen & Hamilton and Publicis and two European Venture Capital firms.

Having worked & lived in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the US, Brenda has a strong international orientation, combined with vertical experience, both online and offline, in CPG, technology, and luxury goods.

Gina Larkin

co-founder & managing partner

Gina brings deep expertise in leadership development, executive coaching, and consulting services to clients across various industries and companies at different stages of growth.

Gina has decades of experience building teams and partnering with clients and customers throughout her career. Before joining Upwardley, she spent 13 years in fintech and financial services. Gina was most recently Vice President, Global Solutions and Innovation Marketing at Visa and on the initial launch team for Visa Checkout, Visa’s first digital payments platform. Before that, Gina ran a team of consultants within the Visa Marketing Consulting department. In both roles, her team’s primary focus was to partner with banks and merchants to drive the adoption of Visa products and increase share of payments. Prior to Visa, Gina held various customer marketing-focused roles in digital music, packaged goods, and marketing agencies.

Gina’s focus at Upwardley is partnering with customers to meet their corporate leadership development goals through consulting engagements focused on leadership habit-building. In addition to her responsibilities as a co-founder, Gina is a c-suite leadership coach, speaker, facilitator, and content developer.

Joshua Kim

co-founder & managing partner

Joshua comes with experiences in industries ranging from retail, wine, and publishing to media, wealth management, and ed-tech. He recently headed up the finance team at the non-profit organization College Track working to secure upward mobility for underprivileged and first-generation college-bound students. Prior to that, he was the Vice President of Finance & Accounting at Blurb, Inc.

With his many years of first-hand experience building, mentoring, and developing successful teams at companies including macys.com, IAC Interactive, and Rafter, Joshua has a special understanding of the unique challenges leaders face in the finance and technology areas.

As co-founder and managing partner of Upwardley, Joshua is deeply involved in long-term strategy and growth, he also oversees finance, legal, and operations on a day-to-day basis.
